I do approve though of the basic approach suggested in the article. Take all the rules off in London and make it a free for all for all modes of transport. With just one rule. Max 20mph. Pedestrians, E-Scoots, E-Bicycles, TukTuks, light quads, Segways, powered skateboards, delivery cargo things, cars (ugh!), vans, trucks, buses, trams. Whatever you can imagine, bring it on, have at it. Just stay below 20mph. |

E-Bicycle confession. I occasionally ride on pavements. I some times leave early on red lights. I have been known to ride the wrong way on one way roads. My e-Bicycle is a little bit illegal with a throttle, 20mph top, ~500w. But I try really hard not to hurt myself or annoy other people. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/aug/21/cycling-britain-traffic-laws-london-chaotic-roads screen shot. No mate, a Freesky Alaska is a monster. 48V, 4KW, 30mph, not 250w. It's a moped that you can't license, register or insure. It's just plain illegal. |

Weirdly nervous about this one. Last year, I felt strong as a mountain. I wonder what's changed. |

It's festival weekend tomorrow. I'm packing:- Perello cocktail mix, jar of Luxardo cherries, Bitter Truth Travelling Bitters pack. And a large selection of Deep House on the phone. Because the "Cocktail bar" needs help! Wish me luck. I don't want to remember it. |

Casino Royale. "I like to have just one cocktail before dinner, Very large, very old and perfectly made." Ian Fleming was a lush, so he suggested a very large variation on a martini. When I feel like that, I reach for a Manhattan. Silky as well. 60ml Bullitt, 30ml Red Vermouth, 3 dashes angostura, luxardo Maraschino cherry. Very cold and silky. |

Yet another article about NEETs in the UK and the 42% rise in mental health problems in 18-24 since 2019. It mentions the problem of social isolation in 2020-21 due to Covid restrictions.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/aug/20/thursday-briefing-the-million-young-people-the-uk-is-leaving-behind But can you guess what it doesn't mention? The after effects of repeated infections of an airborne all body disease that causes numerous mental and physical harms. During your developmental years. When there's a vax that reduces those effects but which you weren't allowed to have. |
