We're no strangers to love
on this island

You know the visa rules
and so do I

A full commitment's what I'm thinkin' of
You wouldn't get this from any other place

I just wanna tell you how we're feeling
Gotta make you understand

Never gonna give you up,
Never gonna let you down

Never going to send you back
Where you came from

This year's festival is Field Maneuvers again. Weirdly, Hyperdub have a stage and Kode9 is playing. That feels properly out of time. Even for somebody in their late 60s.

It's going to be Shall Not Fade's 10th Birthday in Oct this year. I don't think Kieran's up for it. Their release schedule has really slowed up. Looks like last year's festival may have been a step too far.

Even if there's no big event in Bristol, we (the supporters) really should get together for a party. Anyone?

In the back of your mind. How deep are your dreams?

Before that it was Post-Dubstep, IDM, Future Garage (Houndstooth, Hessle Audio) but apart from a few stalwarts like DJRum that holds no interest for me now. Before that, 90s Triphop, Big Beat, Ninja Tune.

And so it goes.

Roughly 15 years ago I started listening to a lot of Deep House, LoFi House and Cocktails at Sunset dance music.

Labels like Lobster Theremin, Banoffee Pies, Shall Not Fade, Happiness Therapy, Rhythm Section International, Toy Tonics. And the NW Coast people like Mood Hut & 1080p.

What happened to that? It's still just about going but scandal, burnout and such like means those labels are fading away. Or they've shifted to Garage or harder Techno.

Where's the heart of happy Deep House now?

Reform UK Party Ltd pledges to remove LTNs from council areas that don't currently have any.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/may/21/reform-uk-ltn-council-areas-none-exist

> Reform are utterly clueless about how to run a council. From councillors who won’t take up their seats to schemes that don’t exist, it’s clear that they don’t understand

> Now they have some power, they need to learn how to Google things first.

Reform UK Party Ltd is a Long Con, owned & run by a bunch of fascist, racist grifters. Don't fall for it.

It's always disturbing when big UK stories make the front page of the newspapers and then disappear as they go though the courts and become sub-judice. What were the Iran Terror Plot and Starmer Residence Firebombs actually all about? We may never know.

This week I shall mostly be ...

Hoping an enforcement letter doesn't drop through the door for various traffic offences during a rare motorcycle trip into London. On roads & shortcuts I used to commute on every day, 20 years ago.

- Average speed cameras
- Escape from a Low Traffic Neighbourhood
- 20mph everywhere
- 3m of one way to reach a turning that didn't help

Brexit Worked! Long Term Net immigration from the EU has gone negative since 2021!

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2025/may/19/how-has-britain-economy-fared-since-brexit-the-five-charts-underpinning-the-uk-eu-summit

Just kidding. Net Migration from non-EU & overall net migration has increased hugely since Brexit-2020.

Every other metric has also been disastrous since Brexit. 62% think it's gone badly. 55% think leaving was a mistake. Only 30% still think we should have left.

Still, "The Boats", "Sovereignty", "The Mail Says ...", "Brexit Betrayal", "Remoaners", "Reform would have ...", right?
