Makes you think, eh? Peak oil makes a bit more sense when the graph scales mean there's a recognisable peak.

And obviously, the 6000BC -> 10000 AD timescale gives some perspective on the "Long Now". That's a mere 650 generations!

There's a few images I've found which really drive the message home. That's one of them.

I've been thinking of making it (or something similar) my CoverPhoto, but the existing layout doesn't fit with the dimensions of the graphic and obscures the scale at the bottom, so I'd have to modify it (not a huge task in itself).

But yeah: makes you think.
