Location, location. Another year goes by and - Buzz posts to Twitter don't retain location - Twitter posts to Facebook don't retain location (when they work at all) - https://www.google.com/latitude wants me to log in every time, even though I'm logged into several other google properties. iPod Touch can update location but not in backround despite using iOS 4. Latitude updates don't go much of anywhere. Surprisingly few people use it, even though they all have a gmail account. There's no RSS/Atom feed of history. Although there is an API which requires custom coding. - check.in is now broken - There's still no public RSS feed of my Foursquare checkins. And the Web version of Foursquare still sucks. There's no obvious way to check in. - There's no obvious way to check in on Gowalla using the web interface - Footfeed tries hard, but the location place lists in all the services don't match up very well. The Latitude link crashes the app. - HTML5 support in Safari is horribly slow. Does anyone actually care about all this? Or is Location a fine example of tech Emperor's Clothes; lots of hype, silly valuations, potential for location based advertising and sales to businesses but terminally broken and uninteresting for mots actual users unless they have an iPhone and are an early adopter.

I'm in a rush at the moment however several of the items on your list incorrect although I do agree with your conclusion.

For instance you can get your FourSquare check-ins from: http://foursquare.com/feeds/

Adewale Oshineye Re Foursquare.
"These feeds are your private feeds -- you should not publish or otherwise share these URLs with anyone else." Although they are publicly accessible, they are a unique URL for each feed that bears no relation to your profile URL. This makes it hard for systems which would like to subscribe to these feeds to find them. You have to ask the user for the specific URL.
