I'm really liking the way Buzz is forcing us to re-examine why we're using all these sites and what we're trying to achieve with them. ISTM that a lot of the debate and the debate in this Buzz arises because we're confusing and conflating 3 different activities. 1) Conversation and group debate 2) Publishing; whether short ("I'm here"), medium ("I've just seen this and this is why it's great") and long ("Here's my essay") 3) The Lifestream or rich profile These are all valid, but the individual tools are often hopeless at doing the ones they're not directly aimed at. Buzz is great for conversation but breaks if you try and do a Lifestream. Twitter is great for short publishing and frankly hopeless at everything else. Facebook is average at all of it but useless for medium and long form publishing. ISTM that the bit Buzz is really missing is the Lifestream in their first attempt at a profile. They've got the technology to build a 3rd tab that grabs the Atom/RSS of all your sites and displays it in a Reader style. That would reduce the perceived need to route the same info into the Buzz stream.

Like the tabbed lifestream approach -- deeper cuts for profiles! 29 Mar 2010 29 Mar 2010

I've seen several posts coming in right from blogs and other sources. So it seems like buzz does have the capability to grab rrs. What i mean here is that, for eg this post of yours is showing up as Juilan Bond - Mobile - Public right? The same way the mobile in the middle gets replaced by the rss feed source. 29 Mar 2010 29 Mar 2010
