Brexit was always about Non-Dom tax avoidance. And it still is. A qtr of a mil to wipe out your tax liability? Cor Blimey, Governor! That's a proper bargain and no mistake.

Feels like we're well overdue for another cultural revolution. 55(RocknRoll Beats), 67(Summer of Love), 76(Anarchy in the UK), 89(2nd summer of love, Rave and Techno-shamanism), 07 (Dubstep, Future Garage). Next?

Another week. Another record for doozy doominess levels. > Each week I read this, and this is the first week I thought "way too much is going on, and for the worse" https://old.reddit.com/r/collapse/comments/1lhkg9j/last_week_in_collapse_june_1521_2025/

9 years on and we still don't know what Brexit was, what it should be and how to deal with it. A majority understands how disastrous it's been. Even among people who voted Leave, a majority of them wished they hadn't. It's a long and slow process of returning. It starts with voluntary alignment by the UK with the EU. UK exceptionalism won't even allow that as the same rich people and enemies would apparently rather have chaos.

Happy Brexit Referendum Memorial Day! One of the most disastrous acts of self harm by the UK in all it's history. Don't ever forget Farage & Johnson that led the way. And that's there a direct link from NF through BNP, UKIP, Brexit Party, Leave.EU to Reform UK Party Ltd. It's still the same long con, owned & run by the same bunch of fascist, racist grifters. In the service of rich people who want it all and enemies who saw the opportunity to cause chaos.

Well, I certainly didn't expect Season 25, Episode 6 to go so far off the rails, so quickly, in the middle act. Have the writers lost their minds?

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/jun/21/uk-trees-burned-green-drax-power-station The DRAX wood burning power station is bullshit. What's worse is that it's expensive bullshit. But then the whole UK Energy market is bullshit. Paying windpower to turn off. Paying gas peaking plants extortionate fees to turn on. Pricing spot electricity according to the most expensive generator. Loading the fixed charge with the subsidies. Nuclear. 40 years of privatised onion layers of contractual bullshit.

> Data centers are expected to consume up to 12% of total U.S. electricity by 2028, up from 4.4% in 2023, the Energy Department said. And that's exponential growth for you. Sparkling Auto-Carrot FTW! Future article. Datacenters are expected to consume up to 12% of total U.S. Water by 2032, up from 4.4% in 2023, the Water Department said

Kuwait-Iraq 1990. Back of a stretch limo, Merrill Lynch NY to an upstate NY datacentre with an Operations mid-manager. ISTR being shocked by the attitude and this statement. "They should just nuke the ragheads". Just like every UK PM, every POTUS has to have *their* war. It seems like it's always the Reps, but it's the Dems too.

Looks like being a quiet one tonight. We'll see. Starts with just walking up the hill to watch the sun set. Not far off the Meridian. There's always a chance they'll fire up the Greenwich laser, but it won't really get dark tonight, even just N of London.
