FT reports on Estonia complaining that Russia is hiring UK and EU's underclass for cash, to commit acts of arson, terrorism and general mayhem. Specific sabotage as well as just raising the background chaos levels.

https://archive.is/EmIP0

I'm sure no Middle Eastern country on the Med would ever do such a thing.

Heathy life years dropping in UK sheds light on deteriorating health.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/apr/27/findings-healthy-life-expectancy-uk-shed-light-deteriorating-health

based on

https://www.health.org.uk/reports-and-analysis/analysis/healthy-life-expectancy-trends-in-the-uk-a-watershed-moment

Scotland is an outlier where healthy life years was already dropping. But it's pretty clear that elsewhere it was stable till 2020 and then dropped off a cliff.

Coincidence, right, and nothing to do with a pandemic.

Pre-monsoon India is always stupid hot and stupid humid. But this is extreme. WBT ~30C in multiple places

https://meteologix.com/in/observations/wet-bulb-temperature.html

Note, Iran also has very high heat and humidity near the Strait. Nice place to be stuck on a tanker.
Bandar Abbas Today 42C, 73% humidity.

- CO2 concentration 430ppm. Fastest ever rise. Still accelerating
- Arctic Ice extent Jaxa, lowest in the records for this day
- Sea surface temp 60N-60S roughly equal first and on an upwards trajectory to a big El-Nino later in the year. Some datasets show the temp at highest ever in the last few days.

So it goes.

The local Rightists seem to really hate Palestine. And especially councils that support the BDS movement against Israel. Their inherent Islamophobia, Anti-Islam and Anti-Iran hatred overrides any inherent Antisemitism.

So do your bit by boycotting Apartheid Sabra Houmous and Jaffa fruit! Though that can get tricky when Tesco's Finest Easy-Peelers are sometimes from Spain and sometimes from Israel.

We're now into the 9th week of the Israel-US-Iran-Lebanon war.

- US Negotiaters called off
- Israel continues to ignore the Lebanon ceasefire, bombing and destroying southern Lebanon
- The Hormuz Strait is still blocked by both Iran in close and US further out.

But on this Monday morning, it's dropping out of the news cycle.

- The Wall Streeter:

60ml Rye, 20ml Cointreau, 7.5ml Grenadine, 15ml Egg White

I can't be doing with egg whites so that's optional. Reminds me of El Presidente with too much Grenadine. There should be named versions of that with the rum swapped for all the other spirits. Eg 60ml rye/gin/cognac/tequila/vodka, 20ml dry vermouth, 5ml curacao, 5ml grenadine.

- Georgetown Club #2

60ml Light Rum, 20ml Dry Vermouth, 2.5ml Falernum, Orange twist

Half way decent white rum is annoyingly hard to obtain. Or more expensive than it should be.

Anyway. It's a rum Martini, right?
