This modern life, eh?

Did I say it makes really good coffee? Completely automates the "pour over", filter, drip process. In a much more controlled way than the DeLonghi filter machines I've been using for years. And which while cheap, only last a year or two before breaking.

US Standard Coffee Cups are 5 Fl Oz or 147ml. Different from the US cooking "Cup" which is 8 fl oz or 236ml. UK mugs are typically 250ml.

The water reservoir is marked in cups and ml but with 150ml markings. Luckily the system can be told to brew quantities in 10ml increments so 500ml for 2 mugs is easy to set as a default. This all causes much confusion.

The user guide is the common 5 pages of pictures. So you really need the online FAQ. Which is hidden away in the marketing website.

I was given a new coffee drip machine for a birthday.

It makes great coffee. Huzzah!

It's internet connected. With very old firmware out of the box. The app took several tries and a hard reset of the machine to connect to their servers via wifi. But you just have to wait for the firmware update. Gah! Why can't I just click a button on the app, download it and install it?

Why does IoT universally suck?

- Honeybee

60ml Light Rum, 25ml Lime, 15ml honey syrup, dash Lemon

Honey syrup is always a bit vague. You may have to adjust the lime and honey up and down for this Honey-Daiquiri. And then ring the changes, Goslings, Aged, Gold, White rum, 1/2 Rum and Bourbon, gin, cognac, and so on. Lime, honey and spirit is all good.

Honey syrup: 3 honey, 1 hot water, cool.
