Start of the 32nd week of the Israel-US-Iran war.

I must be getting tired of this now. I forgot my weekly post yesterday.

BTW. the 12 US B-1 bombers at RAF Fairford sent home from the UK. Defensive bombing must be over.

Get Your War On!

The problem is not just leasehold ground rent. It's also new build housing estate management fees and un-adopted "private" roads. "Freeholders" have to pay twice : council tax and a mgmt fee tax that is unlimited and uncontrolled.

The Greens, Zionism and Racism.

Not sure if Entryist far-left crazies have walked the Green party straight into a trap.

Or it's a masterful act of political theatre that exposes the problems of conflating being Jewish with support for Israel and Israel's genocide of Palestinians.

The idea that the US is incapable of securing RAF Fairford from 5 guys in 3 transit vans is incredible. But I suppose it does provide just enough cover for the US to clear out their 12 B-1s. Since "defensive" bombing raids against Iran by the US are maybe off the table for the moment. At least using UK based B-1s.

UK Covid. The papers are claiming that this wave is dominated by xfg "Stratus", "American Covid". This seems to be based on very limited strain analysis testing 3 weeks ago.

1. Is that right?
2. Does the autumn '26 booster work well against xfg?
3. Is it worth paying for a private vax when the last NHS vax I had was Autumn '24?

https://www.theguardian.com/law/2026/oct/04/ministers-drop-radical-plans-cut-jury-trials-outcry-lawyers-centuries-old-right-courts

What if sentencing guidelines are generally too harsh. So too many non-violent crimes result in short (under 3 years) custodial sentences, requiring a right to jury trial. And so can't be tried in magistrates courts.

For recommended < 6 month prison sentences, convert them to non-custodial. Transfer them to Magistrates courts. Beef up the probation and social services to handle them outside prison.

- Brooklyn

60ml Rye, 15ml Dry Vermouth, 7.5ml Maraschino, 7.5ml Picon, orange twist.

You can sub Cynar or Averna for the Picon. There's both hundreds of variations of this recipe and hundreds of very similar drinks named after other close neighbourhoods.
