This year's festival is Field Maneuvers again. Weirdly, Hyperdub have a stage and Kode9 is playing. That feels properly out of time. Even for somebody in their late 60s.

It's going to be Shall Not Fade's 10th Birthday in Oct this year. I don't think Kieran's up for it. Their release schedule has really slowed up. Looks like last year's festival may have been a step too far.

Even if there's no big event in Bristol, we (the supporters) really should get together for a party. Anyone?

Before that it was Post-Dubstep, IDM, Future Garage (Houndstooth, Hessle Audio) but apart from a few stalwarts like DJRum that holds no interest for me now. Before that, 90s Triphop, Big Beat, Ninja Tune.

Roughly 15 years ago I started listening to a lot of Deep House, LoFi House and Cocktails at Sunset dance music.

Labels like Lobster Theremin, Banoffee Pies, Shall Not Fade, Happiness Therapy, Rhythm Section International, Toy Tonics. And the NW Coast people like Mood Hut & 1080p.

What happened to that? It's still just about going but scandal, burnout and such like means those labels are fading away. Or they've shifted to Garage or harder Techno.

Where's the heart of happy Deep House now?
