VAT is a regressive tax. It penalises people who spend a high proportion of their disposable income on taxable goods. Increasing their marginal tax rate.

We should have a long term goal of reducing it.

But is removing vat on energy also regressive? The more you spend, the more you save.

There's a huge Google datacentre almost complete near the M25-A10 junction. I've been told it's air-cooled and won't take any water from the New River just the other side of the fence.
