We had arguably the best showing and the best time yet, in a show which overall had
record attendance: BMF say 86,914 visitors.
The weather was excellent: dry without being overbearingly hot, and only a light
breeze. Must be exceptional conditions in this bleak fenland site!
This time we were allocated a very good position for our stand, right next to a main
thoroughfare so no-one could miss seeing us.
Stephen Moore dud us proud in his organization of the stand - with a lot of help
from many others - and has offered to coordinate our showing annually until further
notice.
The
part played by Peter Lawrence, his wife and his son was especially welcome and welcoming;
parking their camper righ next to the club marquee, with an awning across, and offering
a hot cuppa and some eats to each member arriving. It made the stand into a "hospitality
suite" in the fullest sense of the words, They too have offered to come and do
this again next year.
It was wonderful that we were able to show a fully balanced, representative range
of our bikes both the modest assembly line versions and the big tourers too, so nobody
could think that FF is "just a corner of the scooter boom". Besides Helxies
and a couple of brand new Burgman 400s and a Majesty, we had two different versions
of Voyager, a Quasar in wonderful condition and Tudor Thomas' very special, long low
Newell Slug. FF Lives!
Tudor Thomas looking very fetching in his Slug.
